CPT 99144 states “ sedation…performed by the same physician performing the diagnostic or therapeutic service that the sedation supports, requiring the presence of an independent trained observer to assist in the monitoring.

So, then if the physiatrist administers the sedation to the patient in the ASC and has the independent trained observer assisting can the Physician-side billing report the 99144 ?
