DOC stated that they did an excision of a soft tissue lesion on back . Path report came back as a epidermal cyst . .doc stated an elliptical incision was made and carried down through deeper tissues. Now from reading report I tend to want to code it as 21930 because of doc stating soft tissue and also stated deeper tissue. Where I get confused is path report states received a fragment of skin with an underlying cyst 1.9 cm in greatest dimension, stated it wasan epidermal cyst . Thats makes mer want to code 114xx series.
so should I code it as-

21930-706.2
OR
11402-706.2
12032-REPAIR CODE
 
you can go into the deeper tissues and subqu with the integ codes. Remember if it starts on the outside of the skin example cyst, melanoma ... then it is probably integ...;)
