Is it or when is it appropriate to code conscious sedation when doing a closed reduction of a FX? EX: 13 year old w/ fx of radius dr. does closed reduction w/ conscious sedation.
Can I report the Conscious Sedation

Looking at the codes you would most likely be using to report the closed reduction for the fracture, it does not appear that moderate sedation is already included. So yes, I would report moderate sedation if done-just make sure the documentation clearly states how many minutes the patient was under sedation.
