Does anyone know if a facility can obtain a retro consent if one was not completed at the time of service? If not, would you direct me where I could obtain proof of that information?

If a consent was required and not obtained, then the remedy isn't to get a retro consent - it should be to either not bill the patient (if the consent was needed for billing purposes) or to educate the providers of the requirements (if the consent was needed to perform a treatment).Thank you for the information. The service in question was for an office/telehealth visit. The computer software populated an edit for informed consent because one was not on "file" in the system.
