Wiki Consult 12 hours after discharge?

My physician wants to know if he can bill a "consult" if a patient was discharged from the hosptial then admitted again 12 hours later? I need some documentation to show if he can or can't do this and why. Thanks!!!!!!
 
Is he being asked for a new opinion?

Who admitted / discharged the patient the first time? Who is re-admitting the patient this time?

Is the physician being asked for his opinion/advice on how to treat the patient's condition?

Too many questions to answer you with any certainty.
