I have a question regarding consults, if pt came in for a consult and doctor has ordered MRI and will see pt back when results are in, do you think that would be taking over care, or would i be ok to still bill out a consult?? Thank you!

consult allowed?

Consultants are permitted to order diagnostic tests. The MRI is to give more information in order to potentially finalize a diagnosis and suggest a treatment plan.

This is NOT taking over the care of the patient.
