E/M Codes

I've been told that we can assign only one E/M code per doctor per day EXCEPT for critical care codes and prolonged services. In these cases, we can code the consultation AND the critical care services.

We have either outpatient or inpatient consultation codes to choose from.

To the best of my knowledge, 2 hours of critical care would be 120 minutes: 99291, 99292, 99292
