Can anyone tell me if any insurance companies pay consult codes anymore?? The last I heard, Independent Health and some of the Blue's did, but that was quite awhile ago.Has anyone been reimbursed for one in the last six months??
Any help is appreciated, and I understand if nobody knows...
 
For my locality and carriers, Medicare and the Medicare replacement plans are not paying for them. I'm not having any issues with the remaining carriers.
 
I'm not sure about all the private payers (best to check their policies) but if you work with billling the VA for outsourced care (Fee basis/ Non-VA Care), consult codes are not allowed just like Medicare.
