When a radiation oncologist sees a patient for (a known diagnosis of breast cancer) at the request of another physician, would this be considered a consult? the patient is being referred for treatment via radiation, so would that meet the criteria of a consult? It doesn't seem as though the requesting physician is asking for an opinion but rather transferring care in the short term for radiation treatment. Thanks for the help.
