When a provider requests a consult from a specialist in their same group (its a large group of multi specialty providers) does the specialist still have to write a letter or show proof of some sort of communication back to the PCP with his findings?
My thought is the least he would need to do it document in the note that the note was send back via the EMR system (they share the same system). But another auditor says that isn't necessary but I don't agree.
