I work in a family practice office and we have a patient with a daughter as his medical power of attorney. She would like to come to our office to see the patient's PCP regarding his health concerns however the patient is unable to come in. Are we able to see a medical power of attorney without the patient present and, if so, what CPT code would we use for the office visit?

If its Medicare, patient must be present to bill for anything. Non medicare may allow E&M without patient present but it would be normal office visit code.
