Is it appropriate to bill an inpt consult e/m for a tonsil bleed during the post
op period?
The patient also went back to the OR for the tonsil bleed- which cpt code
cpt code 42962-78 was performed, But i thought we could not bill a
consult e/m code because it would be included in the global period, but
we can bill for the procedure going back to the OR. Can any help????
and is there any published info on this that I can give to the physicians
if this is correct.
