Hello everyone,

I have a question about using the same dx code for consult and procedure.


Many times during the consult a procedure is necessary.

what do you guys think?
 
Really should not be a problem, just use the 25 modifier on the consult code. There is no need for a different dx just because you have a procedure. If you look in Appendix A of the CPT book you will see where is says under the 25 modifier description .......different dx are not necessary when using this modifier.
