When a PA is on call at the hospital and preforms a consultation, are they able to bill out for this service thru the practice they work for?

When an MD is on call, and they are preforming surgery, can they attest to the hospitals PA consult and bill out for the consultation, or do they have to be in the room for the consult same day of service?
