Getting started in the research for this important facet of health care. Since I'm an absolute rookie in this specialty and before a contract is accepted would like to find out what the major pitfalls are in billing. To those of you who are experienced in this work or just starting out, what have you encountered to be the major pitfalls? What are your recommendations as to the proper way to begin? What is the major obstacle in reimbursement? Modifier usage? Medical necessity? Have you found a strong network of support here and other places?

If you had to learn this business from the start, and looking back from your prior experience, what would be on your list of DO's and DON'tS?
