Trying to find the best code to use for the following:
Patient had a hemorrhoidectomy a week prior (90 day global) from a different physician/hospital- he came back a week later as an inpatient stay with a different physician/facility and all this physician did was go in and cauterize the mucosal borders of the anus to stop the bleeding from where the hemorroids were cut. Am I using an unspecified code for this procedure? And would I still need a modifier even though these two physicians don't work in the same facility? Any help would be great!!!
