I am new Billing Specialist. Can a patient have 2 insurances on file? I know he will need a COB on file, but which one would be first? His own or wife's?

In most cases (might be all, I can't remember) Plan where he is the policy holder will be primary over plan where he is a dependent.

As long as pt's insurance is not a Medicare plan, his will be first.
