Please help I am new to the world of auditing!
I have been reviewing E/M services for inpatient Psychiatric Care.
Sometimes the Doctors are billing based upon time (Coordination of Care) and others they are billing based on face-to-face.
Which is more appropriate from an auditing stand point? If the physician is selecting the coordination of care template then as an auditor do I need to look for the three key components or is it appropriate to just use the time based piece?
