Hi all,
I have a client who wants to bill for the above "genome-wide methylation array analysis for medulloblastoma" for pediatrics. Usually, methylation is either 81287 (MGMT) and 88381 (microdissection) OR 81288 (MLH1) and 88381 (microdissection). The CPT code this person is pushing for is 81406. 81406 appears to be limited to the analytes listed in CPT. Noridian has a very limited listing: APP (amyloid beta [A4] precursor protein) , CAPN3, fgs, PYGM (phosphorylase, glycogen, muscle) , and RET, fgs. I realize this is Medicare/CMS - but we try to be payer agnostic at our facility.

Has anyone else billed for this type of procedure and do you have advice for me? Primarily, I need to have my ducks in order to say "no."

Thank you!
Carol
