Hello, I have a workers comp follow up claim and the provider applied the diagnosis V70.0 because he felt it was just a well visit, the patients initial diagnosis of lumbosacral sprain 846.0 has resolved. Obviously the V70.0 can not be applied because that diagnosis is for an annual/routine physical/exam. Now my question is what diagnosis should I submit on the claim because the medical record states the sprain has resolved and there is no mention of any pain or any other associated symptoms. I was told by my supervisor I could submit claim with the 846.0 because that is what the patient was initially treated for, I was not sure if that sounded correct so I wanted to get a second opinion, thank you.
