I have a senario that I would like some opinions on...

Ultrasound billed under doctor in error, needs to be billed under our on staff ultrasound tech. Claim already paid. I would send corrected claim to insurance. Some people want to just change the claim in our system, apply money and contractional as is.

Thoughts???
 
I would not as it would be a type of fraud! I would say to call the insurance company and let them know what happened, and let them know that you will send in a corrected claim. They may wait to process the corrected claim until you have refunded them the money for the first claim.
