I am taking my CPC exam on April 9 and want to know the difference between counseling vs referral codes.
 
I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand what codes you are talking about.

Most E/M codes can be based either on key components or time spent counseling and coordinating care.

Are you talking about consults vs referral (ie transfer of care)? Or am I way off?

I was told my a member of the AACP the CPC exam will ahve questions on the new Counseling vs Referral codes and what is the difference between them. So I assume that it is more to do with counseling vs referrals. Let me know,
