For twenty years my employment has been in the healthcare field which expanded my knowledge of medical terminology, disease states, medical procedures and treatments, insurance requirements, and the policies and procedures relative to skilled nursing care and home health care.
Having worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities, the Pharmaceutical Industry, and Home Healthcare facilitated my navigation of the AAPC CPC Medical Coding course with a good understanding of each chapter focus, and why specificity is a crucial component of the position of a Medical Coder. Face to Face requirements, medical necessity and proper documentation was a significant part of my daily routine while employed for the Home Healthcare Agency, Life Care at Home.
While I left the Home Healthcare field related to Covid-19 and market conditions, soon after I realized that I truly missed working in healthcare which is why I decided to enter the growing field of medical coding and registered for the on-line AAPC CPC Medical Coding course. June 28, 2025 I completed this course, and passed the certification exam on July 14, 2025.
I am eager to put my CPC-A credential to work for a company that will trust my most recent education combined with numerous years of relative experience will be a valuable asset to their working environment and business needs.
