QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience in assigning CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9-CM codes for the following physicians’ services: E/M, Anesthesia, Surgery, Trauma, OB/GYN, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Ultrasound.
•Working knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology.
•Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding system.
•Experience in Anesthesia, Pain Management, Internal Medicine, Pathology and Emergency Care billing.
•Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Worker’s Compensation and Commercial Insurance.
•Working knowledge of insurance payment regulations including various reimbursement schemes, coinsurance, deductibles and contractual adjustments.
•Excellent communication skills with ability to interact positively with all customers including medical personnel.
•Good understanding of HIPPA requirements.
•Computer skills: PPM coding and billing software, Code-It-Right online coding tool, Citrix – Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Cerner Millennium – Banner, McKesson Call Center Portal ROAR, Horizon Practice PLUS, McKesson proprietary billing software, Windows 95/98/2000/XP, Microsoft Word and Excel 97/2000/2007, Word Perfect 6.0, Internet, Meditech.
