If I take the CPC exam and pass, will I be able to find a medical coding job with a local hospital even if I'm not CPC-H certified?:eek:
 
You will probably be able to find a job as an outpatient coder or at a hospital owned clinic, if you have coding experience.

If you do not have actual hands on (paid) coding experience, you might have to start in a different area of HIM, such as billing, account follow up, data entry, medical records, etc. to gain experience and then move up to a coding job.
