When do you use it? I have a couple of plastic surgeons that think they are performing this surgery when they reconstruct after a partial mastectomy. The problem is that the op-note reads like a bilateral reduction mammaplasty, and sometimes they excise additional tissue on the affected breast and sometimes they don't. They always reduce the contralateral side for symmentry. They never take tissue from another site on the body for the reconstruction.
