I need help coding CPT 64447 with 3 units. I am new to pain management and I am unsure of the multiple units. This is a single code, with no related add on codes. Our physician did 3 injections in the knee, however we have the charges deny when we bill more than one unit. However, they always do 2 or 3 injections for these patients in their knee. Should I bill the code on 3 separate lines with a 76 repeat modifier on the 2nd and 3rd? I would think this would be the best way to translate what services were provided.
