Serrano: Patient was admitted to the hospital as an inpatient on 1-20-14 and on 1-22-14 physician makes hospital rounds and discharges patient to the Nursing Home-He dictates his discharge summary but the patient was not transferred to the Nursing Home on 1-22-14 no bed available at the Nursing Home. Patient was transferred to Nursing Home next day 1-23-14, physician did not have face to face contact with patient on 1-23-14. How would you submit the Hospital Discharge Service?
 
I would bill the discharge on 1/22/14, last face to face. There is nothing to bill for the 23rd.
