HI, What if anything has your facility put in place when CPT Assistant conflicts with Coding Clinics for HCPCS? I'm thinking a hierarchy or most recent advice trumps. I'm interested in what has been the experience of other facility outpatient coders when faced with conflicting advice. Thanks.
 
We have the same discussions in our facility coding group. We talk each case over when this happens. I've noticed some of the payers' claims adjudication software follows the CPT Asst guidelines, based on their denials, even though we're billing for the facility. There isn't a hierachy, per se, that I'm aware of. But if anyone out there has documentation re: this, please share.
