Hi-

Can anyone assist with why a modifier is not allowed on either of these two codes when billed together? The claim that I have is denying procedure code 47563 as being included in procedure 47610 and apparently, no modifiers are allowed. Thanks!

You can't take out the same gall bladder twice

Well, you can't take out the same gall bladder twice. You either removed it laparoscopically or via open procedure. One or the other.

Thanks FTessaBartels for responding =) You're funny that's true. I guess provider wanted reimbursement for having to switch from a lap to an open procedure for the CBD exploration. ;)
