PROCEDURES: BILATERAL BURR HOLE X 2, DRAINAGE OF BILATERAL SUBDURAL HEMATOMAS WITH
PLACEMENT OF EXTERNAL SUBDURAL DRAINS.


The cpt code was selected is 61154-50. Is there anyway to find out what services are included in this cpt code.For example placement of external subdural drains service was part of this code and not separately coded. But How can we make sure for this ? Many thanks
 
I got this from the AANS Global Packet Manual

The global package includes:

Insertion of a needle or catheter into extradural or subdural space
Twist drill hole or burr hole
Covering

Does NOT include:
Ventricular cannula into twist drill or separate burr hole site for pressure monitoring and/or ventricular drainage
Cranioplasty for cosmetic defects
Insertion of a needle or catheter into subarachnoid or ventricular space for injection of gas, contract media, dye, or radioactive material, or drainage or spinal fluid
