Wiki CPT code 63266 two incisions

Hi all coders,


I have an op note that one of my physicians completed a Laminectomy for removal of epidural hematoma separate incisions.

My question is can I bill two 63266 one with a 59 mod for the separate incision? I have done some research and cannot find anything that says no. One site I saw said only one but it was the same incision but different levels.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
 
CPT 63266 has MUE of 1 - so unless there were 2 separate levels (not incisions) I wouldn't report for 2 incisions - if the surgeon feels that a significant amount of additional work was done then you can consider adding modifier 22.
