27752 - Closed treatment of tibial shaft fracture; with maipulation, with or without skeletal traction

The physician treats a tibial shaft fracture without surgery but with manipulation of the bones. Separately reportable x-rays confirm a fracture of the tibial shaft with or without a simultaneous fibular fracture. Using anesthesia, and with the use of skeletal traction as required, the physician manipulates the fracture. Manipulation is accomplished by pushing, pulling, rotating, or otherwise maneuvering the bones so they are properly aligned. Separately reportable x-rays confirm proper alignment. Skeletal traction may not be removed and a cast or brace may be applied to the leg to maintain stability of the bone.
