Need help with a CPT code: Open rotator cuff debridement

The surgeon performed an arthroscopic SAD, DCE and labral debridement - but was unable to repair a massive rotator cuff tear.
He performed an open rotator cuff debridement.

---- Op report: "Opened the cuff with an incision through the anterolateral corner of the acromion. Cautery was used for hemostasis. Dissection was carried to the raphe between the middle and anterior deltoid belly. This was split and developed and retractors were placed, exposing the rotator cuff. Even with an attempted anterior and posterior slide, I could not get this to medialize and therefore it was debrided." ---

I'm leaning toward CPT: 23044. Is this appropriate?
