I was out of ortho coding for a while now getting back into it.

I am not sure why I am not thinking this correctly but can you code 29827 and 29828 together? I am reading you cant but want to verify. Also, if they cant be billed together how should i code the biceps tenodesis, this was not open.

Thanks in advance :)

You can bill 29827 & 29828 together as there is no edit that prohibits it. In 2017 CMS stated in the NCCI Surgical Policy Manual that the shoulder is considered "one anatomical" unit or location. As such, when billing Medicare or any insurance that follows their rules, you cannot bill any coding pair that hits an edit. And 29822 can only be reported alone. Code 29823 MUST be paired with 29824, 29827 or 29828, otherwise it cannot be billed.
