My lab has been collecting & performing covid testing . Our bills from some insurance providers are not being paid or being rejected. I did see somewhere to bill 99001 for collection but I am confused about this ? Anyone please help ?
 
I could be wrong, but from my understanding the "specimen collection" codes are to be used by the clinics collecting the specimens (if they meet all the requirements) and NOT by the lab.

I believe the lab would be billing for the performing of the tests.
