Can you please give me your opinion where code 99464 is concerned. I read this meaning that you can use it regardless of vaginal delivery or c-section as long as the delivering physician reqested the pediatrician to be at delivery. Is this correct?:) Other thoughts on this please!

The diagnosis has to support the consultation request. If the baby is a well-baby delivered vaginally there is no reason for a consultation and therefore the physician cannot bill a 99464 regardless of whether he or she is called for the consultation. On the other hand, if the baby has a dx of TTN or meconium staining, this would be sufficient to warrant a consultation in a vaginal delivery.
