Does anyone have any experience coding and billing for services provided in a CSU? If I'm reading my HCPCS right, the meds and other services are included in the code but I'm curious how the services would be billed.... would each provider bill his/her own services (MD, LCSW, NP) and I assume whatever time they were in supervision of ancillary RNs? Just want to make sure I'm on the right track. Also, is a referring provider required for these services or can patients self-refer or is that up to the payer contract?

New to the discipline and any advice, links, information would be greatly appreciated.

We bill only the room charge for the consumer. Most of your private insurance don't pay for it unless its done by a licensed provider such has MD/PA/LCSW. 90% of the people in our CSP unit are state contracted patients.
