Hi all, I need some help! I have a patient that was seen in critical care on 11/28. 11/29 and 11/30 are subsequent care codes, how do I bill these???

Thanks!

You would use subsequent inpatient visit codes 99231-99233.

The location does not determine whether 99291-99292 is used; the patient being critically ill and having the provider attest to the fact that the patient is critically ill is the only time you can bill 99291-99292.

Hi
Ensure the physician states reason the patient was very ill due to breathing problems, sepsis, cardiac arrest, a full code, SOB fainting Etc. Also he or she should add the minutes on end of record and ensure doc signs it.

Good luck!
