Does anyone have CRITICAL CARE CODING experience? One of our Docs just started in a SICU. I wanted to make sure I'm coding dxs correctly. An example would be... if a pt is admitted to SICU for sepsis shock and it's post procedural would I include primary dx from the surgical procedure as well? Procedure was done at offsite hospital & readmitted to that offsite....then transferred to our hospital. I was thinking T81.4, A41.9, & R65.21 and not including primary from surgical procedure. Your thoughts? I'm an anesthesia coder, so this is brand new to me:) TIA!
