Does anyone know of a good place to find some guidelines for doctors and urses to know when to bill for critical care services? I work for a medical clinic that has a walk in clinic. The doctors are wanting to see some guidelines in writing for when they can and cannot bill for teh critical care. Thank you in advance for all of your help!

The CPT book has an introduction to critical care. It can only be billed by
a physician, and if he or she is ONE-ON-ONE with a patient with an immediate,
life-threatening condition. There are lots of Medicare/Medicaid audits for
incorrectly billing critical care. I am a physician/professor of billing and coding for a college. Email me if your staff needs more help.
