I'm not very familiar with hospital coding and there is a scenario I need help with.

Basically, a baby was born and admitted. Later that day another one of our doctor's came to see the patient because she was having some kind of complications, and helped transition the baby to the NICU, and an outside doctor actually admitted the baby to the NICU.

Can we add a code for the admit and a critical care code on the same DOS for our doctors? I cannot remember if the patient was admitted to the NICU that same day or the following day.
