cervical to thoracic posterior, would the cross coding rules for a fusion still apply for the osteotomy procedures
when crossing cervical to thoracic is 22210,22212 or 22210,22216 , couldn't find a rule on it..for fusions
cross coding rules apply however did not find much on osteotomy thank you
 
Only report the one stand alone code for similar procedures. This will be the higher RVU code to indicate where the most extensive work is performed, 22210 is the higher RVU in this case and should be reported as primary to thoracic. All additional segments should be reported with the add on code, 22216.
