Hello Fellow Coders,
My provider implanted "CRT pacemaker", an atrial lead (RA) and a "coronary sinus" lead (LV). He decided not to place a RV lead stating, "to avoid pacing a permanent lead through the abnormal appearing tricuspid valve".
He coded 33208 and +33225. Can he code 33208 if he did not place the RV lead? Should this rather be coded 99306 for the atrial lead and +33225 for the Coronary sinus lead?
Are pacemakers coded based on the type of generator placed or the leads that were placed?
Any help would be appreciated.
