Is anyone seeing rejections for using CS modifier? Using CS modifier with DX. Z11.52? IS there insurances that do not accept the CS modifier?
 
What dates of service are you using modifier CS on your claims? Per the description of modifier CS, it was only effective during the Public Health Emergency (PHE). The PHE officially ended on May 11, 2023. There a great issue-brief from KFF titled Timeline of End Dates for Key Health-Related Flexibilities Provided Through COVID-19 Emergency Declarations, Legislation, and Administrative Actions linked here that has a table of dates with when the various government mandates related to COVID-19 expired. The mandates regarding zero cost-sharing for COVID-19 testing related services ended on May 11, 2023. If you are trying to bill claims for DOS after May 11, 2023, with modifier CS unless a payer has made a decision to continue using the modifier beyond the end of the PHE then you should expect to receive denials on claims with modifier CS.
