Here is the scenario: We have a physician that ordered a CT scan but was not physically in the building where the CT scan was done. We own our CT scan and employ a Technologist. The Radiologist comes in I think once a day and reads the scan and writes his findings in a report. Our physician (the one not present) will review the findings and sign off on the report and makes the final diagnosis. My question is, who do we bill this under? Does the ordering physician/physician that signed off on the report have to be in the building for us to bill the CT scan under him or do we have to use another physician that was physically present as the rendering physician?

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks,
Amy
