What is the criteria for determining a 'current' vs 'old' injury? What do you report if the patient has a complaint without injury about 3 months ago?

the physician's documentation will tell you....always query the physician when the documentation is uncodable

1 injury I know of is old myocardial infarction equals/older than 8 weeks is coded as 412

I asked this question on another list serve and was told to look current up in the dictionary, lol. So the definition of current is something that is 'now'. I was also told to code the scenario I had with a late effects code and the 700 range code.
