Hi ,
Injection in cathater is not told can i use 36598 for the below report


CV CATHETER INJECT/CHECK, TIP

Diagnosis: OTHER nonfunctioning permacat
Clinical History: Patient with poorly functioning left IJ
permcath. Request for evaluation.

Procedure:

Fluoroscopic imaging demonstrated a left IJ permcath In position.
Proximal catheter tip overlies superior vena cava and distal
catheter tip overlies upper right atrium. The catheter is in good
position. Melting is identified. Good bidirectional flow was
obtained. No interventions were taken. Patient for hemodialysis.
If continued problems at hemodialysis are noted current catheter
will be exchanged.

Impression: No catheter dysfunction identified. If problems at
dialysis continue, Permcath will be changed for alternate
catheter.

it looks like just the fluoro would be coded...there was no injection done so 36598 wouldn't be appropriate.
