Hi there!

Please provide your opinion on what ICD 10 CM code would be appropriate for the below scenario,

CVA with
left hemiplagia-
-right hemiparesis -weak right grip
-both lower limbs no movement except little movement on right toes and little flexsion movement in right leg

Thanks and Regards,

I69354 cva with left hemiparesis I69351 cva w right hemiparesis there is no bilateral because hemiparesis is only on one side if its bllateral its not hemiparesis I would use left hemiparesis and generalized weakness I would also query the physician and is this an IP scenerio or physician visit or ????

Hemiplegia(LT) is paralysis; Hemiparesis(RT) is weakness so you can have both conditions simultaneously. Each would be due to CVA's on opposite sides of the brain.
Don't have my book so no help with ICD code.
