We have a patient who is 15 wks pregnant and is going to have a Cystectomy.
They are going to do a Laparotomy. How should I code this, do I bill for a Cystectomy for a Laparotomy. Or is the CPT 58925 inclusive with the Laparotomy.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You bill only for the cystectomy as this is the definitive procedure, the laparotomy is the approach, and the approach is not coded once a definitive procedure is performed that ghas a unique CPT code.
